Under the Board

Posted Sept. 22, 2026

Every menu on My Menu Place rests on a few ground rules, and this is where they live. The page works as our terms of use, our privacy notice and our word on how far a menu page can be relied on, all at once. It is sorted by what brings you here, so you can go straight to your part.

On this page, "My Menu Place", "we", "us" and "our" mean the people who run mymenuplace.com, and "you" means anyone who visits the site or sends us anything. Browsing here counts as agreeing to everything below. If you don't, please stop using it and don't send us any information.

If you are reading menus

This part applies to everyone who uses the site, whether you stay a minute or write to us every week.

What My Menu Place does

My Menu Place is a website for finding out what restaurants across the United States serve and what they charge. A typical menu page, like the one for Raspatopia, sorts the dishes into sections with prices and shows the hours, the address on a map, a phone number, photos, amenities and guest reviews. For owners, we build and update menu pages at no charge, and we can add a simple website on a mymenuplace.com subdomain. Nobody has an account here: you reach us through the forms on the site or by email at support@mymenuplace.com. We can change, pause or end any part of the service whenever we need to.

Ground rules for everyone

You can use My Menu Place if you are old enough to make a binding agreement where you live, or if a parent or guardian accepts this page for you. It is here for personal browsing, not business use: checking a menu, seeing when a place opens, finding your way there or sending a page to a friend. While you're here, please don't:

  • copy menu pages, photos or listing data in bulk, whether by bot, by script or by hand;
  • post fake or paid reviews, or review your own business or a rival's;
  • push spam or advertising through our forms;
  • pose as a restaurant's owner or manager, or claim a tie to a business that you don't have;
  • upload or link to malware or any other harmful code;
  • tamper with the site, flood our servers or test our security without our say-so;
  • do anything with it that breaks the law.

When someone abuses the site or breaks these rules, we can block their access, turn down or delete what they sent and stop taking their messages. We can do that without warning, to protect the site, the restaurants and everyone else reading.

Prices, dishes and hours

The pages are here for general information. We work to keep each one right, but we can't promise that every dish, price, photo or opening time is complete, up to date and error-free. Restaurants add and drop dishes, move prices and shift their hours, sometimes overnight and without telling us. Some pages came straight from the restaurant. Others we pieced together from what the place already shows the public (the board on its wall, its own website, a business listing), and guests sometimes write in with fixes. A page the owner didn't supply can miss the latest changes.

Read a listed price as a pointer, not a quote: the restaurant decides what you pay at the register. Photos show whatever was in front of the camera that day, so the plate you get and the room you sit in can look different. Before you order, drive over or plan a party around anything you read here, check it with the restaurant.

Each menu page shows whether the kitchen is open or closed, worked out on its own from the hours listed there and the time where the restaurant is. It can't see one-off closings, whether that's a holiday, a private party, a short-staffed night, a storm or anything else temporary, so call the place first when you're counting on the time.

Allergies and special diets

We don't check what goes into the food or how it's cooked, and we don't verify allergen information. A dish description can leave ingredients out, a kitchen can switch a recipe or a supplier at any time, and shared prep space and equipment can carry traces from one dish to the next. Words like vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or spicy are copied from the restaurant or from a public source, and they are not a guarantee. With an intolerance, a food allergy or any other diet you have to follow, tell the staff exactly what to leave out before you order.

None of this stands in for a doctor, a dietitian or a lawyer. For questions about your diet, an allergy or a health condition, talk to someone qualified.

Reviews you read

Reviews on a menu page come from guests who use our Write a Review form, or from public review sites where diners had already written about their visit. Each one is the writer's own take, not ours, and we can't check every claim a reviewer makes.

Us and the restaurants

Unless a menu page says its owner looks after it, My Menu Place has no tie to that restaurant: the restaurant doesn't sponsor us and hasn't put its name behind the page. A listing is no sign of support in either direction. The restaurant isn't promoting My Menu Place, and we aren't telling you to eat there. Restaurant names, logos, trademarks and brand pictures belong to their owners, and we use them only to show which business a page is about.

What we made

The look of My Menu Place (its layouts, graphics, page templates and the words we write) belongs to us and is protected by copyright and other laws. Share links to our pages and print a menu page for yourself as much as you like, but copying, republishing or selling our content or design takes our written permission.

Maps and other sites

Every menu page carries an embedded Google Map, and its directions button hands you over to Google Maps. Google runs both under its own terms and privacy policy. Some pages also point to sites other people run, such as a restaurant's own website. We don't run any of those services, so we can't answer for what they say, whether they're up, how accurate they are or how they treat your data, and pointing you to one doesn't mean we stand behind it. Their own terms and policies apply once you're there, so read their privacy policies before you share anything with them. Map pins and routes can be a little off.

What your visit leaves on our end

Our host keeps ordinary server logs whenever a page loads. They can hold your IP address, your browser type, the pages you asked for and when you asked. That record helps us keep the site up, track down errors, get a feel for overall traffic and stop abuse, never to build a profile of one visitor, and we keep them for a limited time only.

Our own pages set no advertising or analytics cookies and use no tracking pixels. If we ever add a feature that needs to remember a small setting in your browser, that setting will serve that feature and nothing else, and this page will say so.

The Google Map is a different story. When it loads, Google may collect details such as your IP address and put cookies in your browser. That happens under Google's Privacy Policy, not this page, and pressing Get Directions takes you into Google Maps itself, where Google's terms apply.

When things go wrong

Within what the law permits, the site comes to you "as is" and "as available". No warranty of any sort, express or implied, comes with it. That rules out warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, accuracy and non-infringement. We can't guarantee the site stays up or runs without errors.

What you do with the information here is your call. Within what the law permits, My Menu Place won't be responsible for punitive, consequential, special, incidental or other indirect damages, or for lost profits, data or business, that come from using the site or leaning on a menu, price, opening time, photo, review, diet label, listing or outside service shown here. That covers a drive to a place that turned out to be closed, a price that was higher at the register, or a dish that didn't match its description. Using the site costs you nothing, so the most we could owe you on any claim is what you paid us to use it: zero. Where local law doesn't allow limits like these, parts of this section may not apply to you.

When we rewrite this page

We'll revise this page when the site, our forms or the law change. The new version goes up right here, the Posted date at the top moves to the day of the change, and a big change gets pointed out clearly on the page. With no accounts and no newsletter, we have no way to reach every visitor, so it's worth coming back to this page once in a while. Carrying on with the site after the new version is posted counts as agreeing to it.

If we ever disagree

The applicable laws of the United States govern this page. If something goes wrong between us, write to us first and we'll try to sort it out together. A dispute that can't be settled that way goes to a court with proper jurisdiction. If a court strikes down any part of this page, only that part gets trimmed or dropped, as far as it has to be, and the rest keeps full force. Being slow to enforce a rule doesn't mean we've given up the right to enforce it later.

If you send us something

There are no accounts, logins or newsletter here, so the forms and email are the only ways anything about you reaches us. The site has three forms: the note form on Drop Us a Line, the Save My Place form on Your Own Place, and the review form on each menu page.

What you might send

  • Contact details: your name and email address, plus a phone number or city where a form asks for one.
  • Your message: the questions, fixes and requests you write to us.
  • Restaurant details: when you ask to list or change a page, through the Save My Place form or by email, the restaurant's name, phone, street address, hours and kind of food, the menu itself as a PDF, text or a photo, and any dish photos or logo you decide to add.
  • Reviews: the name you type on the review form, your city if you add it, your star rating and what you say about your visit.

Please send only what your request needs.

What it gets used for

  • Answer your questions and requests.
  • Build, update, claim or remove restaurant pages, and check that a page request comes from the owner or a manager.
  • Read reviews before they post, and fix menu details that guests or owners report.
  • Keep the site safe, working and free of spam.
  • Meet our legal duties.

We don't send marketing email and don't use your details for advertising. We only contact you about the request you sent.

Reviews you send

Every review that comes in through the form on a menu page is read by our team before it goes up. Some menu pages also show reviews gathered from public review sites. Keep yours honest and about your own visit or order, and leave out hate speech, harassment and threats, other people's personal details (like a phone number or home address), and ads or links that promote a business.

Sending a review lets us publish it on that restaurant's menu page, without paying you for it and without keeping you from using it anywhere else. We may shorten a review or tidy up its formatting, but we won't change what it says. We may also turn down or remove any review or other submission that breaks these rules, or that we find off topic, misleading or abusive.

After we approve a review, the name you gave, your star rating and your words show on that restaurant's menu page for anyone to read. You don't have to use your full name. Your email address and phone number are never published. To change or pull a review later, email us with the restaurant name, the name you signed it with and roughly when it went up.

Reporting a slip

Spotted an old price, wrong hours or any other mistake? Tell us which restaurant, where it is and what looks wrong, through Drop Us a Line or by email. We review every report and fix confirmed errors as quickly as we can.

Who else gets a look

We don't sell or rent your personal information, and advertisers never get it. It leaves our hands only in these cases:

  • Service providers: outside companies we rely on to run the site, like the one hosting it and the one handling our email. They handle it on our behalf and only to do their job.
  • Legal reasons: when the law or a valid legal request calls for it, or to protect the rights and safety of My Menu Place, our visitors or anyone else.
  • A new owner: if My Menu Place merges with another business, is bought or sells what it owns, your information may go to the new owner, who would have to treat it the way this page says or tell you what is changing.
  • Your go-ahead: in any other case, only if you ask for it or say yes to it.

Keeping it, and keeping it safe

We hold on to messages and listing requests while we handle your request, and afterward so we can look back at how a page changed. Once published, a review remains on its menu page while the page is up, and it comes off sooner if you ask or if we pull it. Anything we no longer need is deleted, or stripped of whatever points back to you.

We take reasonable steps to protect what you send, including limiting who can see it, but no website or email service is completely secure. Nothing on this site needs your bank card, a password or your Social Security number, and nobody here will ask you for any of them, so keep them out of forms and email.

Asking about your data

You can ask which personal details of yours we keep, have anything wrong or out of date fixed, or have them erased, reviews you posted among them. Email support@mymenuplace.com, label the subject "Privacy request" and say what you'd like done, or use the form on Drop Us a Line and mention privacy. To keep your details safe, we may ask you to confirm who you are, for example which restaurant page it's about, the name you used and about when you sent your message or review. We'll answer as quickly as we can, and making a request won't count against you in any way.

People in California and several other states may have extra rights under their state privacy laws, such as learning which kinds of personal information we collect and why, getting a copy, having it corrected or deleted, and opting out of its sale or sharing. Every kind we collect is on this page: identifiers (name, email address, phone number, IP address), server log data, the city you type in, the messages and reviews you send, review ratings, and the restaurant details, menus and photos you send us. We don't sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Someone you authorize may act for you, and we may ask them to show that you gave permission. If we turn a request down, reply and ask us to look at it again.

Kids, and visitors from abroad

The site is made for grown-ups choosing a place to eat, and it isn't aimed at anyone under 13. We don't try to collect details from young children. Should a child under 13 send us anything, let us know and we'll erase it.

My Menu Place lists restaurants in the United States. If you visit from another country, what you send may be stored and handled in the United States or wherever our service providers work, and the data protection laws there may not match the ones at home.

Answering for what you send

If something you send, a break of these rules or misuse of the site brings claims, losses, damages or costs against My Menu Place, reasonable legal fees included, you agree to cover them, defend us and hold us harmless.

If you run a place

If you own or manage a restaurant that appears on My Menu Place, you can ask us to update its page, claim it as yours or take it down, through Drop Us a Line or by email. To guard against false requests, we may first ask you to show that you are the owner or one of the managers, perhaps with a detail or document that ties you to the restaurant, and we may turn a request down when we can't tell who sent it. We handle these requests as quickly as we can. Sending anything on behalf of a restaurant means you're confirming you have the authority to accept this page for that business.

Your menu, photos and logo

When you send a menu, dish photos, a logo or other details about a restaurant, you're confirming that the restaurant is yours or you manage it, or that you otherwise have the right to share that material, and that putting it online won't infringe anyone else's rights.

What you send stays yours. You let My Menu Place keep it, show it, and resize, reformat or rearrange it on the restaurant's menu page and on the optional website we build for it on a mymenuplace.com subdomain, without paying you and without keeping you from using it anywhere else. That permission ends once the material comes down, and you can ask us to take any of it down at any time by writing to support@mymenuplace.com.

The restaurant details you send, like the address, phone number, hours, menu and photos, go up on the restaurant's page for guests to see, since showing them is the whole point of the page.
